32 High School Students’ Amazing Art That You'll Love

Updated: Apr 4, 2019

Thirty-two art students from Grand Ledge High School will be the featured Artists of the Month for April at Ledge Craft Lane!

We have seen some amazing art from past GLHS art students’ exhibits and expect no less this year.

The three visual art teachers providing instruction and encouragement to these young artists, and very talented in their own right, are Sarah Berry, Sarah Johnson and Doris Thompson.

Sarah Berry is in her fourteenth year as an art teacher, currently teaching Ceramics 1 and 2. You might also remember her as an artist at Ledge Craft Lane with her inspired dog paintings and her unique and whimsical paintings of Space Roosters!

Sarah Johnson has been teaching art for four years and currently teaches Art 1, Drawing, Printmaking and Sculpture.

Finally, Doris Thompson is in her 33rd year of teaching art for the Grand Ledge schools! This year finds her teaching Metals & Jewelry Design 1 and 2, Drawing, and Studio Art. She also teaches Dual Enrollment - Kendall College of Art & Design classes after school at the high school.

Under the guidance of these three instructors, students have been provided with an art program that balances structure with opportunity so that they can develop their own individual creativity.

Their program teaches the use of tools and techniques and then encourages the students to create their own artistic vision.

This year these instructors have chosen over thirty art students to exhibit more than forty pieces of artwork in the Gallery:

Lauren Abbruzzese, Pritiksha Bionapally, Savannah Burgess, Rachel Davis, Sydney Deal, Grace DeGeest, Anna Dunnebacke, Danny Ellis, Luciana Fata, Emily Felcher, Hannah Foltz, Sarah Franz, Daniel Gallagher, Grace Golisch, Ethan Hilton, Jenna James, Lauren Kellogg, Louis Konkoly, Sophia Kraus, Savannah Lavengood, Lauren Macsay, Cassidy McGeorge, Kelly Morgan, Maggie Mullins, Emily Ostrander, Kaden Nowak, Gabriel Rafail, Audrey Rumzek, Sierra Schmitzer, Elena Schonheit, Emily Sochay, Bella Zoglio

These young artists would be thrilled to have you stop in and see the works they’ve created.

So mark your calendar now or make yourself a note to stop in at Ledge Craft Lane during the month of April. You’ll be glad you did.

Open House: Saturday, April 20th from 2-4pm - Come and meet the artists!

And just so you know how talented these kids can be, check out some of their creative work!
