About Us

Ledge Craft Lane is housed in the 1885 Fire Hall (See THE BUILDING below).  Formed in 1975, Ledge Craft Lane is a not for profit art cooperative.  Our artists and craft artists (See THE PEOPLE below) are juried members with original artwork in a wide variety of disciplines.

Located on Bridge Street across from the Opera House in historic Grand Ledge, Ledge Craft Lane occupies two floors of unique gifts and art for everyone.

You’ll find paintings, photography, fabric art, and household novelties like napkins, table runners, towels, chenille pillows, and scrubbies.  There is pottery, jewelry, note cards, as well as hand-knitted, crocheted and quilted items.   You’ll come upon wood crafted items, baskets, vintage jackets, soaps and lotions, books, prints, a variety of unique creations, and seasonal décor.

Each season brings its own activities and special events.  In the spring we hold our annual Art Aid event with silent auctions and raffle drawings.

Summertime finds the Island on the Grand River bustling with vendors and shoppers during our annual Island Art Fair, always the first Saturday in August.  This juried show brings artists and crafters from all over the state for this one day event.  Visitors are met with 100 booths of unique and quality products while also enjoying musical entertainment, food, and rides on the riverboat.

Each month Ledge Craft Lane has a special feature in our Gallery.  You might discover an exhibit of a talented artist, holiday specials, exhibits honoring individual or group-community members, art & craft sales, etc.

Art classes for adults and children are offered year round.  Our instructors are local artists and conduct their classes in a room on the easily accessible ground floor.  And our Ledges ArtBox Parties offer workshops in a variety of arts and crafts.

Throughout the year, Ledge Craft Lane participates in a variety of community events.  We may offer special artist demonstrations, book signings, or children’s “Make-it, Take-it” activities.  We also have extended hours during holidays and special Grand Ledge events.
